It probably started when I began using my Fisher Price tape recorder to pirate songs from the MTV I wasn’t supposed to be watching. But it was good trouble being a student of amazing songwriters like the Talking Heads, Prince, and Twisted Sister. Soon, I was playing drums with friends who played guitar. And then, helping them write songs. And then, as I entered into the real world and discovered that I’d need a reliable income to consistently purchase groceries, I found the closest approximation to that kind of magic making which could underwrite my love for heavy metal drumming:

Creative collaboration — through songwriting, filmmaking, and yeah, advertising — is endlessly fascinating to me. I love chewing on problems with others until we’ve crunched things down into seamless solutions. Things that feel like they always existed and were just waiting to be discovered. (Not that any Titanium-Lion-winning ad could ever compare to the timeless hit “Jump” as performed by your pick of Van Halen, House Of Pain, Kris Kross, or The Pointer Sisters. Just being real.)
